Available from the System & Database Settings menu in Admin is a new page named Field Groups. This replaces the old Maintain Field Groups page available in the older Library site.

Field groups continue to allow search field groups but also now add the flexibility of search result groups, combining this with our new search result templates offers many more options for designing your perfect result template.

The page will open with tabs for other parts of database configuration. The Field groups tab will show a filter for language and portal to allow the display name column to display the value appropriate to your chosen portal and language.

Creating a new group (Search or results) can be done using the blue button displayed just above the grid.



Group table


Status - Shows if the group is active or inactive

System Name - Is the default name of the group.

Display Name - used to display the group name differently per Portal and language

Suggestion - Only used if group type is 'Search', used to identify if suggestion can be used or not for the group.

Data Search - Only used if group type is 'Search', used to enable contains/is empty option for the group

Include Narrower - Only used if group type is 'Search', used to identify if narrower terms are included when searching thesaurus fields in the group.

Matching Type - Only used if group type is 'Search', used to set the default thesaurus search mode.

Date Search - Only used if group type is 'Search', used to set the default date search mode.

Type - Identifies if the group is setup for search template or result template use.


For each group you are able to;

Edit - using the blue pencil icon 

Delete - using the red bin icon 

Copy - Using the black copy icon, this will create a copy of your template which can then be modified as required and assigned to an appropriate template.
