After clicking the 'Create new' button you will immediately see the template setup page for creating a new search group template.

Status - Shows if the group is active or inactive

System Name - Is the default name of the group.

Display Name - used to display the group name differently per Portal and language

Suggestion - Only used if group type is 'Search', used to identify if suggestion can be used or not for the group.

Data Search - Only used if group type is 'Search', used to enable contains/is empty option for the group

Include Narrower - Only used if group type is 'Search', used to identify if narrower terms are included when searching thesaurus fields in the group.

Matching Type - Only used if group type is 'Search', used to set the default thesaurus search mode.

Date Search - Only used if group type is 'Search', used to set the default date search mode.

Type - Identifies if the group is setup for search template or result template use.


The Display text is what is shown to users on the search page, this can be set per portal and per language allowing you to translate your group name into your users language and rename between portals if required. Selecting a new language or portal will immediately update the display text value set based on your selection. If your language and portal combination do not have a value set for display text the system name will be shown.

Adding fields to a template is done using the 'Fields' section of the template. Start by using the drop down/suggestion to find a field you wish to include in the template. Then once you have selected your field click the 'Add field button. Repeat this process until all fields are selected which you wish to use in your search field group. Complete the setup using the blue save button at the bottom of the page. A green success message will confirm the setup has been saved successfully.

If you need to start over you can quickly remove all selected fields using the red clear button in the blue header. Or simply remove individual fields from the grid.
